Macarons

Ever since I first tasted macarons, I've been wanting to take a stab at making them.  But every time I read the recipes and people's comments, it seemed like such a daunting task.  And I suck at whipping egg whites. 

But then I saw a recipe on Tartelette for PB & J macarons!  So this past weekend, I got all my stuff ready and made them.  But my macarons did not even look like macarons....it looked a big sheet of flat almond cookie.  I think my egg whites were not whipped enough .....Anyways, don't know if I'm going to try to make macarons any time soon.  It was really depressing to see them all go flat and get friendly with their neighbors.

    Awwww...hahaha. I was about to ask, "What do you mean get friendly with their neighbors?" But I get ittt... =P But you know, that sheet still looks like it'd be tasty. Did you eat it?? It looks like almond thins or something. Like if you break it up. Mmmm...

    Awww, dude! I've never tried making macarons before and this is a little discouraging. Maybe we should try making some together sometime -- it should be easier to whip egg whites with two people, right? Haha. Glad they tasted good anyway!

    ahh..don't let my experience discourage you!! If it doesn't turn out, you get tasty cookies :)
